Description
Princess Sofia of Sweden commissioned a pair of chandelier earrings for the Nobel Gala Dinner to complement her tiara. The brief was clearly defined: white gold, diamonds, and London blue topaz. The tiara’s structure guided the proportions and vertical composition. A graduated line of calibrated diamonds was developed, culminating in London blue topaz selected for consistent depth of colour and evening presence. Technical drawings preceded fabrication. White gold frameworks were engineered for lightness and precision, with stones matched for uniformity in cut, tone, and brilliance. Multiple fittings ensured balance, alignment, and comfort, with final adjustments made at millimetre level.Worn at the Nobel Gala Dinner, the earrings functioned as a seamless extension of the original headpiece the result of a disciplined process of design, material selection, and refinement.
