Rings

Understand your size

Orrling uses EU ring sizes: the number describes the ring's inside circumference in millimetres. For example, EU 52 has an inner circumference of 52 mm and an approximate inner diameter of 16.55 mm. Choose from the sizes offered on the individual product page.

Measure the intended finger

  1. Measure at room temperature, preferably later in the day. Check the hand and finger where you will wear the ring.
  2. Measure around the base of the finger using a non-stretch measuring strip. Check the knuckle too; the ring must pass over it comfortably.
  3. Repeat the measurement. If the result is uncertain, ask us for an in-person fitting before ordering.

Use a ring that already fits

Choose a round ring worn on the same finger and similar in width to your intended purchase. Measure straight across the inside, excluding the metal, or compare it with the calibrated circles in the printable PDF.

Diameter = circumference divided by pi, rounded to 0.01 mm. This reference does not indicate stock availability. International letter and number systems are not exact universal equivalents.

Wide, stacked or sculptural rings

Width and shape affect fit. Do not automatically add one size. If you are between sizes, or choosing a wide or unusual design, contact us so we can confirm the most suitable fit for that particular ring.

Bracelets, bangles & cuffs

Start with your wrist measurement

Wrap a flexible, non-stretch tape around the wrist where you intend to wear the piece. Keep it against the skin without pulling tightly. Record the circumference and check the wrist joint if it is wider. Left and right wrists can differ.

Your wrist circumference, a bracelet's laid-flat length and a rigid piece's inner dimensions are different measurements. There is no single centimetre allowance or XS-XL conversion that works for every design.

Construction What to check
Chain and tennis bracelets Finished length, whether the clasp is included, and the recommended wrist range for that design.
Rigid bangles Internal dimensions and opening mechanism. A closed slip-on bangle must also pass over the hand.
Open cuffs Internal dimensions, opening width and recommended wrist range. Do not bend the piece unless its product instructions allow it.
Elastic or adjustable bracelets Supported wrist range and adjustment limits. “One size” does not mean every wrist.

Orrling wrist sizes in centimetres

For the converted letter-size designs, choose the option matching your measured wrist circumference. The fitting allowance is already included. Do not add 2 cm when selecting an option labelled “wrist”.

Previous size Select for wrist circumference Former bracelet circumference reference
XS 15 cm 17 cm
S 16 cm 18 cm
M 17 cm 19 cm
L 18 cm 20 cm
XL 19 cm 21 cm

This conversion follows Orrling’s confirmed manufacturing size chart. It applies to the converted Imagine, Hitch Bangle, Unload and Open Monogram Frame Cuff options. If your wrist falls between the available sizes, contact us for advice. Options labelled length describe the jewellery itself; follow their product-specific instructions.

ICON AXIS: component versus finished bracelet

The separately sold ICON AXIS is offered in lengths of 15-21 cm. Its product descriptions specify that the ICON Clasp adds 1 cm: an AXIS of 16 cm gives a finished bracelet length of 17 cm with that clasp.

For a complete ICON bracelet, check whether the selected length already includes the clasp. Do not add the clasp allowance twice. Charm layout and the finished configuration can also affect how the bracelet feels on the wrist.

Necklaces & chains

Choose how you want to wear it

Use a non-stretch ribbon or a necklace you already wear to find the length you prefer. Place it around your neck, then measure it flat. Consider the pendant drop separately. The position of a necklace varies with your neck, height, neckline and the construction of the piece.

Read the length precisely

  • Check the total wearable length and whether the clasp is included.
  • Check each available adjustment position. “42 or 45 cm” describes two positions; “42-45 cm” does not by itself promise continuous adjustment.
  • Keep pendant dimensions separate from chain length.
  • Pearls, beads and substantial links can sit differently from a fine chain of the same stated length.

For example, the Griffe Chunky Necklace lists 42 or 45 cm, the Barbelle Pearl Necklace lists 45 cm, and the Swivel Hook Pearl Necklace lists 55 cm. Always use the information on your chosen product page.

Printable measuring guide

Download the five-page Orrling Size Guide (PDF): ring measurement advice, calibrated EU 45-64 ring circles, bracelet guidance, a wrist measuring strip and necklace length advice.

  1. Print on A4 paper at 100% / Actual size.
  2. Turn off Fit to page and Shrink to fit.
  3. Measure the 40 mm control line on the relevant page with a physical ruler. It must be exactly 40 mm before you use the tool.
  4. Do not measure against a phone or computer screen. Printed tools are a starting point; if the result is uncertain, ask us to confirm it.
