How much does an engagement ring cost?

What determines the price of an engagement ring?
The metal and the ring's construction
The chosen metal, the amount of material and the construction of the ring affect the price. A wider band or a more substantial design needs a different amount of material and work from a finer band. Compare the actual specifications of the rings you are considering.
The diamond or coloured gemstone
A stone's price is not determined by its size alone. For diamonds, cut, colour and clarity also matter, alongside carat weight. The type of stone and its individual characteristics affect the options available within your budget.

The setting, design and craftsmanship
The way a stone is held, the number of stones and the details of the design affect the work involved. A personally developed ring can also involve design discussions, sketches and, when appropriate, digital models before manufacture.
Discuss the design as a whole. Two rings with similar centre stones can differ in their metal, construction, setting and finishing.
Real setting price examples at Orrling
On 21 October 2026, the Swedish storefront listed Solare Halo from SEK 18,950 for the setting, including its halo stones, and Cova Monte from SEK 21,950 for the ring shank and side diamonds. The center diamond is selected separately and added to the price for both designs.
These are dated examples of starting setting prices, not complete engagement ring prices or quotations for a personal design. The selected size and configuration can change the amount. Check the current product page and the final selection before ordering.
To compare the two fairly, first compare the setting specification, then add the price of the actual center diamond selected for each. Keep a separate line for any other agreed options. This makes it clear whether a difference comes from the setting, the stone or additional work.

Choose an amount that suits your circumstances. Decide which qualities matter most: the overall shape, a particular stone, the proportions on the hand or a design with personal meaning.
A useful starting point is to name your priorities and your total budget in the same conversation. This makes it easier to discuss which choices belong in the proposal and what can be adjusted.
Check what the price includes
Before ordering, ask for a clear description of the ring and the terms that apply to your selection:
- Which metal, ring size and design does the price cover?
- Is the centre stone included, and which stone is specified?
- Are additional stones, engraving or other personal details included or quoted separately?
- What work is included in a personal design proposal?
- What delivery estimate, payment terms and arrangements for size adjustments apply?
Check these points for the particular ring. Options and terms can differ, so a general guide should not replace the product information or an individual quotation.
Can your own gold or an existing stone affect the cost?
Existing materials can be part of a conversation about a new ring, but their suitability needs to be assessed. They do not automatically remove the cost of design, manufacture, setting or any additional materials.

Does a larger diamond always mean a better ring?
Choose the ring as a whole: its proportions, appearance and how it feels to wear. Compare the stone's characteristics and the setting as well as its size, rather than treating carat weight as the only decision.
