LUNDS TEKNINSKA HÖGSKOLA CAMPUS HELSINGBORG
Lund University Faculty of Engineering (LTH) is Sweden’s third largest institution for higher education and research in engineering. At LTH’s Campus Helsingborg, students can pursue Bachelor of Science in Engineering (högskoleingenjör) degrees in Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. The campus also offers a foundation year in engineering (Tekniskt basår)—a preparatory program designed for students who need to complete prerequisite subjects before entering a full engineering degree.
LTH’s Campus Helsingborg is an important part of Lund University’s broader vision to make high-quality engineering education and research accessible in northwestern Skåne. The campus is modern, centrally located, and fosters a close-knit academic community with strong connections to local industry and innovation hubs.
Researchers from LTH are active in Helsingborg, particularly in Packaging Logistics and within the Centre for Retail Research (Centrum för handelsforskning). These research environments focus on sustainability, innovation, and the future of supply chains and consumer behavior—making the campus a vital contributor to both academic and industrial advancements in the region.
Campus Helsingborg is also known for its collaborative atmosphere, where students and researchers work together with companies, municipalities, and organizations to solve real-world problems, especially in areas like urban development, smart logistics, and sustainable technologies.
THE LTH RING – A TRIBUTE TO CAMPUS HELSINGBORG
Twenty-five years ago, renowned Swedish designer Håkan Orrling was commissioned to create a unique ring for LTH Campus Helsingborg. The mission was clear: to design a ring that stayed true to the iconic tradition of the LTH ring for Lund University, while also representing the distinct identity and spirit of the Helsingborg campus.
To achieve this, Orrling incorporated a powerful local symbol — the silhouette of Kärnan, Helsingborg’s medieval tower and one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. With its characteristic crown-shaped top, Kärnan adds a strong visual and cultural anchor to the ring, linking the engineering education in Helsingborg to its historical roots and regional pride.
The result is a ring that symbolizes not only academic achievement, but also a sense of place and legacy. Just like the students who graduate from LTH Campus Helsingborg, the ring stands at the intersection of innovation and tradition, engineering and identity.
